"The GOULDIAN FINCH"

 THE AUTHORS

Professor Stewart Evans is an academic biologist at the Newcastle University in the United Kingdom.
Stewart has worked with Mike Fidler for many years in the study of Gouldian Finches and been responsible for much of the scientific work that has led to a greater understanding of the species.

Mike Fidler is one of the world's leading authorities on Gouldian Finches in both the wild and in captivity.
Mike's financial contribution and study of the species, and subsequent work in restoring habitat in the wild, has been enhanced by the knowledge acquired from many years of captive breeding, which resulted in production of up to 3.000 Gouldians in a single season.

In addition to Evans and Fidler, a number of leading authorities have contributed their considerable expertise in this body of work.

Important new information revealed in contemporary studies of the Gouldian Finch has been included, such as nutrition, ultraviolet light, and studies gleaned from the wild.
This book examines the requirements needed to stem the decline and institute recovery plans.
At the same time, it is essential that advances in captive breeding be maintained.

This definitive work will serve as an important tool for aviculturists and conservationists alike.
Few books have presented in detail the study of a specific species as does "The GOULDIAN FINCH"

With 240 pages and over 100 colour plates, the book is case bound and finished in hard cover with gold leaf.
This quality piece will be highly sought after for decades to come.
