CINNAMON

This mutation has been known in Belgium since the early nineties.
Sometimes this mutation is called the "brown" mutation and it is sex-linked recessive. 

Breeding Cinnamons is not easy as most young die at a very young age.
As far as it is known, all Cinnamons have been females.

 


This mutation already exists in Belgium and Holland.

As shown in the picture these birds have a pale green colour on the back and also the yellow abdomen is a totally different colour. Black headed birds have a paler black with a brown mist. 

I
n the picture below the difference between a Cinnamon (in front) and a normal bird (behind) can be seen quite clearly. Even in the nest, a yellow colour can be seen at the time of hatching.
