Ancient name: Blue Australian White Breasted Yellow
                    Blue Australian Recessive Yellow

In both photos at various stages in development we can see very clear a Blue Gouldian Finch.

Notice the nest mate with the green varigated back - being typical Australian Yellow - and the other two which are sex-linked Pastel Green and Australian Yellow in the one bird as the "green" back is replaced with yellow varigations.

The parents are sex linked dominant Pastel Green split Australian Yellow male to an recessive Yellow hen and both must be split to Blue as well to produce this offspring. Interestingly, the male parent shows a white bib and some yellow on the back of the neck being a characteristic of split to Australian Yellow.

In this photo we see another nest, the two babies with the white head are Blue with Australian Yellow.
This diverged color is typical for Australian Yellow.
The baby in the middle is a Pastel Blue.

In this photo we see the same juveniles on a later date.

In this photo we see a a young moulting bird with definite markings on the back.
The darker ones are now appearing as a grey-blue similar to a Pastel Blue , Blue with sex-linked dominant Pastel Green.
It seems the Blue is appearing where you would expect the Green to be on the back of an Australian Yellow.
It also carries the white chest which you can see appearing.
