The fancier of the bird in the pictures does not wish his name to be published at this time. 
Some inbreeding will be necessary to maintain and ameliorate this colour. 
It is named "Noble Blue".

Latest news: 
The Noble Blue Gouldian male above moulted out the blue and the red belly.
This year he has fledged 3 young and the young came immediately into colour. 
All young have the green back and the purple breast and yellow body.



 

In this picture we see another gouldian with blue in the wings and also in the purple breast.

Latest news: 
This bird also became green after moulting and all his juveniles are normal green backs.


This remarkable modification is caused by a local reduction of lutein.
